Director of Equity Research

Tuna N. Amobi is Director and Senior Equity Analyst at CFRA Research, New York, where he leads coverage on the Media and Entertainment industry, and oversees the firm’s analytical coverage of the Consumer Discretionary sector. Most recently, Tuna was a Senior Equity Analyst at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where also helped to create the S&P Core Earnings® framework, and was a member of the firm’s Analytical Policy Board. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Tuna has made regular commentaries on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business Network, and quoted in the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times, among other media outlets. Tuna has been severally selected as a top Media analyst in the Wall Street Journal’s “Best of the Street”. 

Previously, until 2001, Tuna was a Senior Equity Analyst at Lehman Brothers, New York, where he also participated in the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. He was highly instrumental in managing an equity portfolio, mainly focused on the Technology, Media and Telecom space. Earlier, Tuna gained extensive global consulting experience at Arthur Andersen and KPMG. He received a B.Sc. (Accounting) from University of Nigeria, as well as LL.B. (JD), with an MBA (Finance) from the international finance program at Strathclyde University, Scotland, U.K. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and New Jersey.
