Mr. Kerry G. Oslund has been Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Tribune Broadcasting Company, LLC since July 25, 2016. Mr. Oslund served as a Senior Vice President of Publishing & Emerging Media at Schurz Communications Inc. since May 2014 until July 25, 2016. He also helped create the Mobile 500, a coalition of broadcasters working to advance commercial and policy aspects of Mobile DTV. He is co-inventor of RedPost, a digital-out-of-home advertising display & audience measurement system currently in over 400 retail locations. He served as Vice President of Digital Media at Schurz Communications, Inc. since November 1, 2008. 

Mr. Oslund served as Vice President of New Media for Gannett Broadcasting. In that role, he focused on new opportunities in journalism, programming and business on emerging platforms. He served as the primary digital liaison between Gannett Broadcasting, USA Today, Gannett US Community Publishing, the recently formed Digital Division, the corporate legal and mergers and acquisitions areas. He joined Gannett's corporate team in 2002. He also had corporate responsibility for 18 broadcast web and WAP sites and as many newer pure-play online verticals (moms, high school sports, and entertainment). Mr. Oslund was honored this year with Gannett's Chairman Award for both past and future contributions. 

In January 2003, he moved to corporate headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Beginning in 2000, he served as New Director at WXIA-TV, in Atlanta. At that same Gannett station, he held roles as Executive Producer, Special Projects EP and Newscast Producer from 1985 to 1990. During that time, he spent one hear in Washington, DC, as Supervising Producer and Lead Writer for Gannett’s nationally syndicated program, “USA Today on TV”. In 1996, he served as News Director at Lee Enterprises’ KOIN-TV, in Portland, Oregon. In 1999, he added the title of Corporate News Director for Lee Enterprises, helping news operations at seven other network affiliated stations. Before that, Mr. Oslund served as News Director at WZZM-TV, in Grand Rapids and WVTM-TV, in Birmingham (both Argyle stations). From 1990 to 1994, he worked in Los Angeles as Executive Producer for the Walt Disney Company. He helped create and supervise KCAL TV’s “Prime 9 News”, the first prime-time all-local news block in a major market. While attending college, he produced newscasts and worked the assignment desk for the local CBS affiliate in Phoenix. 

He has travelled extensively for strategic planning, moderating focus and usability sessions, leading branding and innovation workshops and vetting new opportunities. His work in newsrooms has been honored with six Emmys Awards, two Golden Microphone Awards, a dozen Associated Press Awards and the National Association of Black Journalists highest award for International Coverage. In 2015, he was awarded a Knight-Cronkite Innovation grant from the university for his work on mobile proximity triggering technologies (Beacon, RFID, GPS) for media companies. 

In 2014, at the National of Association of Broadcasters convention, Broadcasting & Cable Magazine honored him with its Technology Leadership Award. In 2013, the same publication featured him on its cover, as one of the industry's "Next Wave of Leaders." He attend the Center for Creative Leadership, was part of Gannett's inaugural class for IDEO Innovation training, and regularly led innovation and design challenge sessions at Gannett. 

Mr. Oslund holds degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Statistics from Arizona State University where he worked as a local newscast producer for the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, joining that station full-time after graduating in 1983.
