Dwayne Benefield is Vice President, Head of PlayStation Vue, Sony Interactive Entertainment, with P&L responsibility for PlayStation Vue, the pioneering cloud-based TV service, as well as oversight of strategy, programming/content acquisition, service operations and product management.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Benefield helped expand PlayStation Network by leading a team that structured, negotiated and executed partnerships with 3rd party services like Netflix and Amazon, ultimately growing the number of services and related revenue by 10X. Mr. Benefield was also responsible for negotiating the content licenses with the major labels and music publishers for PlayStation's subscription music service.
Mr. Benefield began his career in the Information, Communications and Entertainment practice at KPMG and then spent 10 years at The Walt Disney Company within Corporate Finance, Strategy and Business Development roles. In between Disney and Sony, he was the GM of West Coast Entertainment at Google, where he focused on content acquisition for YouTube and managed an ad sales team that included YouTube's first Upfront ad sale, as well as delivered 40% of YouTube's total revenue during his tenure.
Mr. Benefield obtained his Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University, and later earned his M.B.A from the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School (M.B.A.) with Majors in Strategic & Entrepreneurial Management.
