Media companies are re-imaging the viewer experience using a cognitive approach to produce advanced audience insights and recommendations based on real-time, highly precise and predictive analytics that are needed for dynamic programming and marketing decisions. This session will introduce a first-of-a-kind cognitive media solution purposely built for the IPTV and OTT market. This solution built on top of state of the art big data platform and deep learning capabilities that derives (i) audience profiles from viewership data and various interactions, (ii) enriched content meta-data by analyzing text, audio and video contents, (iii) service personalization such as accurate content recommendation with deep learning models. It will focus on how the largest and only cross-regional cable network operator in China has leveraged the solution for the content recommendation, product recommendation and market prediction of its new media content production, and thus become the country's most innovative new media, new network, cloud computing and big data media company.
